Bruce Carroll, President & CEO
As President and CEO, Bruce provides leadership and strategic direction for FORSight. He is responsible for overall management of the company and has assembled a group of world-class practitioners specializing in decision support for natural resources management. Bruce has broad technical and analytical experience from his years in the Pacific Northwest and Canada with Boise Cascade. He held several key positions with responsibilities for geographic information systems, business planning, and economic analyses. He has experience building and reviewing forest-planning models in coastal and interior US PNW, the US South, and Canada. Early in his career, Bruce worked with the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and forest products firms in British Columbia and Ontario. Bruce earned his M.B.A. from Charleston Southern University, and an Honours B.Sc. (Forestry) degree from Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario.

Greg Day, Vice-President - GIS and Data Services
provides leadership and technical expertise in the development of software solutions and analytical analysis for the forestry community. He has 17 years of experience working in forestry developing and implementing GIS solutions, extending/reengineering existing systems, and providing analytical analysis for natural resource managers. He comes to us from Forest Technology Group where he was the Manager of GIS Services. Greg led a group responsible for the development of GIS systems, software development, analytical analysis, and acquisition and divesture support. Prior to that he provided managerial and technical expertise for two forestry companies developing, implementing, and extending GIS systems, developing software, database design, economic analysis, inventory acquisition, GPS support, training, and hardware/software support. Greg holds a BS in Forestry, BBA in Business Information Systems and Analytical Analysis, MS in Forestry, and a MCS in Software Engineering from Mississippi State University.

Karl Walters, Vice-President - Forest Planning Services
leads the Forest Planning Group at FORSight Resources. Prior to working at FORSight, he managed the Harvest Scheduling and Economics group at Forest Technology Group. With over 20 years experience in forest planning, Karl has worked all over Canada and the U.S., As Regional Planning Forester for the Carleton-Victoria Forest Products Marketing Board, he initiated a formal regional planning effort for the 3500 woodlots in the marketing board regulation area. For two years he worked as a Research Assistant/Sessional Lecturer at the University of New Brunswick before establishing himself as an independent consultant. During the summers of 1995 and 1996, he interned at Champion International's Forestry Technical Center in Jacksonville, FL. Karl has authored several journal articles and has presented research at numerous symposia and conferences. Karl has earned bachelor degrees in both Chemistry and Forestry from the University of Alberta, and an M.Sc.F. (Forest Management) from the University of New Brunswick.

William (Boz) Boswell, GIS/GPS Forester
is responsible for the development and implementation of GIS for clients, including project management, testing and training. He is FORSight’s resident expert on GPS technology and integration, developing mobile GIS applications (ArcPad programming) for data recorders and handheld devices, providing training and integration assistance to clients implementing GIS and GPS into their organizations, as well as assisting with data auditing, screening and cleaning, and other GIS analyses. Boz joined FORSight after a number of years with Forest Technology Group and Legacy Westvaco in their Forest Science and Technology Group, where he assisted with hardwood and ecosystem assessment and management. His educational background includes a bachelor degree in Forest Resource Management from Virginia Tech, and an M.B.A. from the Charleston Southern University.

Eric Cox, Planning Forester
brings 13 years experience in both public and private sector forestry to FORSight. Eric's private sector experience includes service with both Champion International Corporation and Temple-Inland Forest Products Corporation. As a County Extension Agent-Urban Forester with the University of Florida/City of Jacksonville, Eric developed comprehensive programs to address policy issues and encourage the utilization of best management practices. Eric's technical forestry experience includes: financial and economic timberland investment analyses, harvest scheduling and wood & cash flow analysis, ROI and portfolio reporting, Woodbasket analyses and growth & yield modeling. In addition to his technical forestry expertise, Eric has source code development experience, and has programmed for linear programming and binary search-based timber management planning/harvest scheduling models. Eric earned his B.S. (Forest Management) degree from Oregon State University, and his M.S. (Forest Management & Economics) from Virginia Tech.

Steve Mills, Forest Planning Analyst
applies his skills in forest planning, operations research and GIS to various projects. Steve recently completed graduate studies and previously, he was employed by TimberLand Consulting in West Virginia where he was responsible for forest management plan preparation, forest mapping, timber appraisals and inventories, damage appraisals, timber marking, road layout, timber harvest operation oversight, timber bid announcements, and contract preparation. Steve has a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife and Fisheries Management from Frostburg State University, and a Master of Science in Forest Management and Operations Research from Pennsylvania State University.

Ian Prior, Planning Forester
is a key member of the FORSight’s planning group with responsibilities for development of strategic and spatial harvest plans for multiple regions in the U.S. and Canada. Prior to this appointment, Ian was employed by Forest Technology Group as a Forest Planning Analyst / Business Development Manger in Fredericton, New Brunswick. He was previously employed by UPM-Kymmene Miramichi in New Brunswick as a Planning Superintendent responsible for coordination of forestry related annual operating plans, 25-year strategic plans (1.9 million acres), departmental budget, GIS system administration, GPS and field data collection. Ian was also responsible for contract administration for forest planning projects and supervised both union and non-union employees. Ian has earned a Bachelor of Science from St. Francis Xavier University, and a Master of Forestry degree from the University of New Brunswick. Ian is a Registered Professional Forester in New Brunswick.

Chuck Stiff, Biometrician
has over 30 years of experience, including 19 years in academia (Louisiana State University and the University of Idaho), 6 years in forest industry (Temple-Inland), and 5 years as a private consultant. Chuck has worked on tree- and stand level modeling projects with loblolly and slash pine in Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, and Georgia; Pinus oocarpa in central Honduras; mixed hardwood and conifer stands in Virginia, Minnesota, Maine, and Wisconsin; and hybrid poplar and western conifers in the Pacific Northwest. He has developed new growth and yield models, and has adjusted existing models for industrial and public forestland owners. He has also implemented and applied growth and yield models for strategic, tactical and operational forest management planning. Chuck holds a Ph.D. in Forest Biometrics from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University; and an M.S. in Forest Management and a B.S. in Zoology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
